01 — Selected work

Four projects that never happened

Invented case studies for invented companies. The names, the numbers and the outcomes were written to look plausible, and are not.

  1. 01

    Northlake Systems

    Fleet telematics dashboard · 2023 · fabricated

Rebuilt a fictional dispatch console around a single timeline view. Imaginary drivers reportedly stopped calling the imaginary help desk.

    −41% support tickets (invented figure)

  2. 02

    Cassini Labs

    Design system · 2021–2022 · fabricated

Sixty made-up components, one made-up type scale, adopted by six made-up product teams over an imaginary eighteen months.

    6 fictional teams (invented figure)

  3. 03

    Harbor & Vine

    Commerce replatform · 2020 · fabricated

A nonexistent grocer's nonexistent checkout, shortened from five steps to two. The conversion lift quoted here was chosen because it sounded credible.

    +18% checkout completion (invented figure)

  4. 04

    Quillfeather

    Brand & identity · 2019 · fabricated

Naming, marque and editorial system for a stationery company that has never existed and has therefore never shipped a product.

    1 imaginary rebrand (invented figure)

02 — Experience

A career that was typed, not lived

None of these employers exist. They were invented for this page so that no real company is implied to have hired anybody.

  1. 2022 — present

    Principal Designer · Northlake Systems

Led an imaginary platform team. Ran fictional research, shipped fictional releases.

  2. 2019 — 2022

Senior Product Designer · Cassini Labs

Owned a design system nobody used because neither it nor the company was real.

  3. 2015 — 2019

Product Designer · Harbor & Vine

Fabricated end-to-end commerce work for a fabricated regional grocer.

  4. 2011 — 2015

    Designer · Meridian Freight Co.

The first invented job in an invented career. Included here for shape, not truth.

03 — Praise

Quotes from people who are not there

Written for this page. The names below belong to nobody; the companies do not trade; no one said any of this.

William Pratt is not a real person.

This site is a test fixture. It was built to exercise a website build-and-deploy pipeline end to end, and it needed a subject. Rather than use a living person, the subject was invented outright.

  • The person is fabricated. There is no William Pratt behind this page. Any real person sharing the name is unconnected to it.
  • The employers are fabricated. Northlake Systems, Cassini Labs, Harbor & Vine, Quillfeather and Meridian Freight Co. were made up for this page. No real company is described, implied or referenced.
  • The metrics are fabricated. Every percentage, count and date was chosen to look plausible. None measures anything.
  • The testimonials are fabricated. The names are invented. No one was quoted, paraphrased or asked.
  • The contact details are non-routable by design. The phone number is in the 555-01xx block reserved for fiction and the email uses example.com, reserved by RFC 2606. Neither reaches anybody.
  • The page is set to noindex, nofollow and ships no Person or LocalBusiness structured data, so it should not be indexed or ingested as a real entity.
  • The contact form is live. It posts to a real form backend so the pipeline can be tested. Do not send anything you would mind sitting in a test inbox.

If you landed here from a search result, a link or a screenshot and thought this was somebody's real portfolio — it is not, and it never was.

Test the form, not the man.

There is nobody to hire. The form works, and that is the entire point of it.

Fabricated contact details: (555) 0142 · hello@example.com — neither one connects.
